Positive response to initial APAEC Congress

Delegates to the inaugural Asia Pacific Association Executives Congress, held at Crowne Plaza Royal Pines Resort on the Gold Coast from Thursday 8 to Saturday 10 November 2007, agreed that it was an outstanding success.

The Congress was designed exclusively for Association Management Senior Executives, and it showed. ACEB partner Treasure Gordon of Desliens Conference and Event Management reports that very positive responses were received on the content of the program and the quality of the speakers.

And it was not just the program. A number of delegates commented on the results they achieved in networking with their peers.

  • One delegate stated that he had been trying to link up with a particular group for more than a year, with out success. All meetings set up turned out to be with the wrong people, until the APAEC Executives Congress. It was with a great deal of pleasure he told us that one group of delegates were exactly the people he had been seeking to meet. He now had a follow-up program in place.
  • Another delegate found he got a significant financial return from the congress when he found from other delegates that his association was considerably underpricing their annual conference.

Desliens Conference attended the Congress as a founding member of APAEC. Members agree that planning should begin for the 2008 Congress.

The Congress was followed by an ACEB partners meeting.
